We often think of stress as a mental or emotional issue. But really, stress is a full-body experience.
From tight muscles to digestive issues, your body is constantly responding to the pressures you face. And the longer stress hangs around, the more deeply it embeds itself… unless we take steps to support the nervous system.

In episode 23 of The Brain Changers™ podcast, I spoke with Craig Collings-Wells, a holistic massage therapist from Ethereal Holistic Massage, about how stress manifests in the body and how we can begin to release it.
The body keeps the score
As Craig explains, the nervous system – particularly the vagus nerve – plays a huge role in how we respond to stress. When we’re in a constant state of ‘fight or flight,’ our digestion slows, our muscles stay tense, and our immune function weakens. Over time, this can lead to burnout, chronic fatigue, and illness.
So, what can you do?
The good news is that you can support your nervous system and bring your body back into balance. In this episode, Craig and I explore techniques like:
Deep breathing and body awareness
The power of safe, therapeutic touch
How massage therapy helps regulate the stress response
Recognising signs of nervous system dysregulation
